My project this month will be an ongoing project that I will work on off and on. It will contain stamps of Julie Nutting's, and other things that I consider to be My Favorite Things.
I started off with this Prima Album that Anna gave me. I had thought about putting gesso on it for some texture and painting it but I looked at the other things that Anna had sent to me and there was one washi tape that covered the printing on the front of the album but still let it show through just a little bit. Some of the others were too light and didn't cover anything at all.
I took the Teresa Collins "He Said She Said" washi tape and placed strips across the cover of the album making a pattern with each arrow going across, tearing off the excess on each side and trimming it with a craft knife. I also used some washi tape from my stash and wrapped it around the edges of the cover to frame it.
Then I used Golden Soft Gel Medium, with a paintbrush and sealed the washi tape to the cover so the edges would not pull up and so that the brush strokes would give some texture to the entire project.
There are 3 metal dots that go across the top of the album so I covered them with the Prima Delight Sugardot Stickers in light blue and pink.
I created one Julie Nutting doll by stamping her onto the Prima Script paper pad to make the base of the doll. I colored her hair with a Faber-Casteel Big Pitt Pen and Prismacolor pencils. I then found papers from 6x6 pads that I liked for her clothes and fussy cut around them and the base doll. I colored her shoes with a FC Big Pitt Pen and the lace on her dress and around her waist like a belt. I also stamped the Julie Nutting wings to make wings for the doll.
At the top of the cover I place a Heidi Swapp chipboard word "love" with some Prima leaves tucked under it. I also put little HS chipboard hearts all around the cover in various places and two of the arrows to the left of the doll placement.
I used some rub-ons from Fancy Pants and Tim Holtz to accent the cover. I used some of the wooden Prima butterflies and birds as accents as well, which I colored with Tim Holtz Distress Stains.
The items from Prima, Julie Nutting and Heidi Swapp can be found in Anna's Store at the following links.
I loved making this cover and I can't wait to fill it up with more of my favorite things! I hope you enjoyed the first segment of this project and tune in next month for the first page and the back of the front cover. I can't wait!!
